Sales and Marketing Coordinator

Rifle, United States

Location: Rifle, Colorado. On-site, in the shop daily.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt

About DM Vans

At DM Vans, we are on a mission to make van life accessible for everyone. Nestled in the mountains of Colorado, we design, build, and sell Lifestyle Vehicles® crafted for the Van Lifer, the Weekend Warrior, and everyone in between. Our team knows what life on the road actually asks of a vehicle. We're not just building vehicles; we're building an inclusive community of explorers.

Role Overview

The Sales and Marketing Coordinator is our presence on the ground in Rifle. You are the voice customers hear when they call, the eyes our remote sales team relies on, and the person capturing what actually happens on our shop floor. When a customer is waiting months for their van to be built, you are the reason they never wonder what is happening with it.

This is an on-site role, in the shop every day, alongside the people who build our vans. You will work closely with our remote sales consultants, our marketing team, and our production crew. This role is roughly 30% sales presence and lead engagement, 25% shop content production, 20% build communication and milestone capture, 15% systems and reporting, and 10% operations and cross-team coordination.

30% sales presence & lead engagement   25% shop content production   20% build communication & milestone capture   15% systems & reporting   10% operations & cross-team coordination

This is a deliberate starting point, not a dead end. It is built for someone who wants to learn this business from the inside out and grow into a sales career with us. We are a small, hands-on team. Everyone contributes. Everyone helps get it done. We value trust, flexibility, and work-life balance, and when one of us wins, we all do.

DM Vans Core Values

  1. Assertive and Open-Minded: Encourage open communication, confident decision-making, and the ability to listen and adapt.
  2. Self-Aware: Demonstrate understanding of personal strengths and areas for improvement.
  3. Ambitious: Continuously strive for excellence in individual performance and company-wide objectives.
  4. Authentic: Lead with sincerity and genuine care for team members and customers.
  5. Not Assholes: Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment where kindness thrives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Presence & Lead Engagement (30%)

  • Answer the sales phone line and be the first human voice a prospective customer hears.
  • Qualify and triage inbound leads, routing serious buyers to the right sales consultant with the context they need.
  • Own long-term follow-up on aged and cold leads with consistent, genuine outreach. Many of our buyers take months to decide, and this is how we stay with them.
  • Greet and engage visitors who come to the shop, give informal walkthroughs, and hand off to a sales consultant when the conversation turns to numbers and configuration.
  • Serve as the in-person counterpart to our remote sales consultants, the person who can physically stand next to a customer and a van when they cannot.
  • Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages across our social channels and paid ads. Answer questions, log real leads in Odoo, and hand off anything brand or press sensitive to the marketing team.
  • Provide backup coverage for deal completion and document logistics when needed.

Shop Content Production (25%)

  • Capture raw photo and video of builds, processes, and the people doing the work, and deliver organized files to our editor.
  • Shoot operator and craftsperson profiles. Sit down with our CNC operator, our electrical team, and our upholstery bench, and capture how the work actually gets done.
  • Work from a shot list provided by the marketing team, and bring your own ideas for what is worth capturing.
  • Build a consistent, reliable pipeline of authentic footage so our storytelling never runs dry.
  • Maintain organized file naming, storage, and handoff so nothing gets lost between the shop floor and the edit.

Build Communication & Milestone Capture (20%)

  • Photograph and film every van in progress at agreed build milestones.
  • Send customers meaningful, personal progress updates during their build wait, so they feel connected to the van being made for them.
  • Fulfill specific photo and information requests from the sales team on behalf of their customers.
  • Track which vans are due for updates and make sure none slip through.

Systems & Reporting (15%)

  • Keep our CRM accurate and current. Log every call, visit, and customer interaction in Odoo with enough detail that anyone can pick up the thread.
  • Maintain clean lead records, disposition history, and follow-up scheduling.
  • Pull routine recurring reports for the sales and marketing team.
  • Flag data problems and process gaps when you spot them.

Operations & Cross-Team Coordination (10%)

  • Serve as the daily link between the sales and marketing team and the people building our vans.
  • Flag build schedule changes, spec questions, and potential delays early, so promised dates hold and there are no surprises.
  • Know every upcoming New Van Day and keep the sales team informed on what is coming.
  • Keep communication seamless between sales, marketing, and our Owner Experience team, who own the New Van Day handoff itself.
  • Be the on-site hands for teammates working remotely. Capture odometer readings, VIN sticker photos, and lender-required vehicle photos so financing and paperwork are never waiting on someone to walk out to the lot.
  • Verify specs, options, and configurations on units in the lot and yard when the team needs eyes on a van.

Flexibility & Growth

This role changes with the shop. Some weeks you will be on the phone working leads, others you will be filming a build, walking a visitor through a van, or chasing down a spec answer for a customer waiting on their delivery date. You will work side by side with sales, marketing, and production, and you will see how all three actually fit together. There is room to grow, take on more, and shape how this seat works. As we evolve, your opportunities will too.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfortable talking with strangers on the phone and in person, with genuine warmth rather than a script
  • Comfortable representing a brand in public comment threads, where your reply is visible to everyone
  • Organized enough to keep a CRM honest without being reminded
  • Curious about how things are made, and interested in the people who make them
  • Able to shoot usable photo and video on a phone or an entry-level camera. You do not need to be an editor.
  • Willing and able to obtain a Colorado sales license within six to nine months. DM Vans supports and pays for this.
  • Able to work alternating Saturdays
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Rifle area. This is an on-site role every day.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and clean motor-vehicle record (MVR) required, and comfortable moving vehicles around our facility

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in retail, hospitality, automotive, RV, or another customer-facing role
  • Content you have made and published on your own, personal or professional
  • Familiarity with Odoo or another CRM
  • Experience in the outdoor, lifestyle, or van life industries

Team KPIs

Sales Presence & Lead Engagement

  • Answer inbound sales calls live during business hours and return every voicemail the same business day
  • Work a tracked follow-up cadence across the full aged and cold lead list, with no lead going more than 30 days without contact
  • Log every call, shop visit, and customer interaction in Odoo the same day
  • Greet and tour every walk-in visitor, handing qualified buyers to a sales consultant with full context
  • Respond to every social and ad comment or direct message within one business day

Content & Build Communication

  • Deliver 8 to 10 usable raw content captures per month to the editor
  • Complete at least 1 operator or craftsperson profile shoot per month
  • Photograph every van in progress at each agreed build milestone
  • Send every in-build customer a progress update on schedule, so no customer has to ask what is happening

Systems & Coordination

  • Keep CRM records accurate enough that any team member can pick up a customer thread without asking you
  • Pull and distribute routine recurring reports for the sales and marketing team
  • Flag build schedule changes, spec questions, and potential delays to the sales team before they become customer surprises
  • Turn around on-site vehicle information requests, including odometer readings, VIN sticker photos, lender photos, and spec verification, the same business day

Shared Team Responsibilities

  • These KPIs are designed to guide focus and measure impact, not to limit initiative. We will calibrate the targets together in your first 90 days, once we have real numbers in front of us. Our sales and marketing team works as one unit, with shared ownership of goals and a collective commitment to growing the company together.

Compensation & Growth

  • Base Salary: Starting at $60,000/year (DOE), increasing to $65,000/year upon obtaining your Colorado sales license, typically within six to nine months. DM Vans supports and pays for licensing.
  • Benefits: Health, dental, vision, and 401(k).
  • Paid Time Off: This role includes FTO, in line with DM Vans’ policies.
  • Employee Ownership: Eligible for the DM Vans employee-ownership program, sharing in long-term success.
  • Schedule: Full-time, salaried, exempt. On-site in Rifle daily, including alternating Saturdays.
  • Career Path: This role is designed to develop into more. As our volume grows in Rifle, we expect to need a dedicated on-site salesperson, and the person in this seat is the obvious candidate. You will already know the product, the process, the customers, and the people who build the vans. The sales license is the first step, and we will invest in getting you there.

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment (showroom/office) and occasionally around vans and a shop setting.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move between showroom and vehicles during tours/walkthroughs.
  • Occasional lifting of light materials as needed.

Reports To: Director of Sales and Marketing

What We’re Looking For

If you are curious, dependable, and genuinely like people, we want to hear from you. This role is for someone who lives our values, not someone aspiring to them. Our best people are grounded, emotionally intelligent, and naturally curious. They follow through, care about the details, and bring both initiative and humility to the work.

This job requires someone who wants to be around the work itself: on the shop floor, next to the van, in the room when a customer sees theirs for the first time. You will spend your day moving between a phone call, a camera, a build bay, and a spreadsheet. If you want a predictable desk and a single lane, this is not the role for you.

You do not need sales experience or a film degree to succeed here. You need to be the kind of person who picks up the phone, notices what is worth photographing, and never lets a customer wonder what is happening with their van.
